A Sport Leadership Presentation
You have been asked by an athletic director of a college to talk to the coaching staff about leadership styles and coaching effectiveness. You agree to give a presentation. Outline and discuss what the main points of your talk would be and why.
Two days before your presentation, you do some checking on the bios of the coaching staff to get a sense of what they coach and of their experience. You realize the coaching staff is a culturally diverse group, from many different countries and ethnic backgrounds, as are the athletes. How does this fact change your presentation? After all, most of the work on leadership theories has been done by studying middle-aged, white males. Explain your thoughts in this discussion.
Be sure to support all of you answers with evidence from peer-reviewed literature.
